Content:
This course provides the student with a working knowledge of accounting principles as applied in public school accounting, including an orientation to school finance, financial accounting, payroll, and fixed assets, as well as audit requirements.  The course includes an overview of Arizona School Budget laws.  Includes an extensive review of the USFR. 

Topics:
• Components of school finance and how they relate to school accounting 
• Cash & accrual accounting, chart of accounts, double entry, and encumbrance accounting 
• Maintaining student activity accounts in accordance with legal statutes 
• Payroll accounting and accounting for general fixed assets 
• Correlations between the general principles of financial accounting and specific local statutory requirements 

 

Cancellations must be submitted in writing five (5) business days prior to the class to qualify for a refund (NO Refunds for “NO SHOWS”). Please mail invoice and check to: AASBO, 2100 N.
