Supervision Received: The District Superintendent will supervise the Campus Director.
Supervision Exercised: The Campus Director will directly supervise the Team Leaders and other support departments and personnel with indirect oversight of all school employees of the District.
Essential Duties:
- General: Works closely with staff to establish and maintain an effective, safe, andsupportive learning environment for the students. Creates with staff competency based instructional programs, including the establishment and maintenance of productive advisory committees, appropriate placement and scheduling of students, and quality customer service for students and the community. Promotes enrollment, retention, and placement goals at the school. Establishes and maintains relationships with colleges, community organizations, and other schools to coordinate educational services.
- Policy: Interprets and enforces District policies, procedures, and administration regulations. Develops and provides forms and training to assist school staff to understand policies and regulations. Enforces district as well as federal and ADE guidelines, policies and procedures. Ensures compliance with IDEA, ADA, and Section 504 of the Vocational Rehabilitation Act of 1973, as amended for assigned programs.
- Personnel Supervision: Oversees the schools teaching process, including developing and evaluating all program curricula, developing in-service training and professional development for staff, etc. Assigns personnel to job duties, and makes special arrangements, as needed. Integrates and emphasizes inter-departmental team work, including grant development, curricula, student activities, counseling, job development, assessment, registration, and other support services.
- Support Services: Ensures support services such as health services, recruitment and admissions are provided equitably to all students; oversees the development and implementation of the registration and attendance process; provides security and detention procedures for school.
- Student Conduct:Works closely with programs by providing student discipline, following due process policies and procedures of the District and the Arizona Department of Education (ADE). Attends events that recognize student achievement and other school-sponsored activities; oversees extra-curricular activities.
- Budgets: Administers and monitors budgets for assigned programs; administers and controls the collection and disbursement of student activity funds for assigned programs; monitors the process for funds collected for customer work projects and ensures funds are used properly.
- Human Resources: Oversees the recruitment, screening, hiring, assignment, training and evaluation of employees under his/her direct supervision. Conducts staff meetings as needed; Conducts staff evaluations pursuant to requirements of the District and Title 15 of the Arizona Revised Statutes (ARS); follows disciplinary process for teachers and other assigned staff; makes recommendations to supervisor per timelines established in District and ARS procedures.
- Reports: Maintains required school records and reports pursuant to ADE and District guidelines and procedures. Supervises the preparation of reports and other documents required for the operation of instructional programs. Maintains statistics by program on enrollment, student placements, competency completion, and other data relevant to evaluating program performance.
- Transportation: Oversees the campus student transportation program. Addresses bus scheduling problems with feeder districts.
- Risk Management: Acts as risk manager for campus instructional programs and oversees the use of school facilities. Plans and supervises campus fire drills and other emergency preparedness exercises, including the school’s Crisis Management Plan.
- Confidentiality: Ensures confidentiality of all program records including faculty, staff, and student information.
- Professional Development: Develops a strong understanding of school programs and their requirements; maintains current information and updates information on state and national developments that may impact training opportunities for the faculty and students. Participates in professional growth opportunities through membership and involvement in professional organizations and attends conferences as needed to develop administrative abilities. Enrolls in advanced classes as needed to expand educational knowledge.
- Delegation: Delegates functions to Program Supervisors and other staff in order to promote the efficiency of operations.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Doctorate degree from an accredited university preferred; Master’s degree required, preferably in industrial or vocational and technical education; and
- Principal or Supervisory Certification by the Arizona Department of Education required; and
- Five or more years of progressively responsible administrative experience related to the management of vocational and technical education programs preferred.

POSITION SUMMARY: The Director of Technology Infrastructure and Information Systems provides strategic direction and leadership for the effective use of all integrated information systems. GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
The Assistant Superintendent for Business Services is responsible for administering the business affairs of the District in such a way to provide the best possible educational services with the financial resources available.
SUPERVISION ADMINISTERED
The Assistant Superintendent for Business Services supervises all staff members assigned to the Business Services Department including the Director of Budget and Finance, the Director of MIS, the Director of Child Nutrition, the Director of Plant Services/Transportation/Warehouse, the Administrative Secretary, and the Energy Education Coordinator.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED
The Assistant Superintendent for Business Services is directly responsible to the Superintendent.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- The Assistant Superintendent for Business Services shall possess the following qualifications and/or experience:
- A Bachelor’s Degree with a major in Business Administration, Accounting or related field, and a Master’s Degree in Educational Administration, Business Administration, Management, or other related field. Additional graduate study beyond the graduate degree is highly desirable.
- Five years of successful experience in educational administration, including at least three years’ experience in directing financial activities of a school system.
- Considerable knowledge of school administration, school law, finance, facilities, procurement, planning, operational principles and techniques.
- Experience in Meet and Confer process.
- Ability to analyze, plan, organize and administer the District’s business affairs.
- Ability to develop short and long-range plans and effectively organize and administer District support operations.
- Extensive knowledge of U.S.F.R., bidding procedures, transportation planning, maintenance and operations.
- Ability to direct/manage others effectively.
- Ability to communicate effectively.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other administrators, employees, citizens, community and minority organizations.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develops and implements financial plans of action that assure compliance with U.S.F.R. regulations and procedures, as well as State and Federal law.
- Coordinates with the Superintendent the development and implementation of an approved five-year financial and facilities plan which supports the District’s Mission and Goals.
- Develops a comprehensive plan for the maintenance and renewal of District facilities.
- Assures that all bidding and business affairs are conducted in a legal and professional manner.
- Oversees the District’s Energy Education Program.
- Responsible for development and implementation of comprehensive plans for Pupil Transportation, Procurement, Maintenance and Operations, Child Nutrition Services and Business Services.
- Responsible for recommendation and planning of Bond and Override Elections that should be conducted to meet District facilities and programmatic needs.
- Manages the investment of District funds in a prudent manner that ensures maximum returns.
- Responsible for developing and administering the District’s insurance programs.
- Preparation and presentation of all Business Services agenda items to the Board.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Shall be a participant in District Meet and Confer activities.
- Shall be responsible for space allocations in the District.
- Shall be responsible for administering the District rental of facilities program.
- Shall be responsible for efficient mail delivery, print shop and warehouse servicing.
- Shall design and present financial reports to the Board.
- Shall assure that expenditures do not exceed approved budget amounts.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES - Continued
- Shall periodically meet with appropriate staff to review the status of the budget.
- Shall give in-service to secretarial and administration staff on budget coding and use of computerized budget report.
- Shall oversee District Safety Committee and related functions.

- Shall supervise purchasing through the Manager of Procurement and see that quotes, bids and RFP’s are prepared and released according to State Statutes and District Policy.
- Shall establish an up-to-date procedure for the inventory of facilities, and equipment with proper identification numbers, location, room assigned, date purchased, and purchase order number.
- Shall sign purchase orders, vouchers and contracts.
- Shall see that all business related contracts are fulfilled.
- Shall negotiate rental of schools to outside agencies.
- Shall provide for effective copy machines for district and schools.
- Shall maintain a fair and impartial attitude for the distribution of approved funds following the guidelines set forth by the policies of the district.
- Shall keep the Board and Administration aware of property insurance liability and damage to district property.
- Shall report outside audit to Board and Administration.
- Shall review all travel reimbursement claims for conformance to state guidelines.
SALARY AND BENEFITS
This is a 12-month administrative position. Salary range: $86,408 - $93,204. Excellent benefit package includes: Employee medical, dental and vision insurance, $100,000 Life Insurance, Disability Insurance, 27 vacation days, sick leave (earned monthly) and holidays.
