Purchasing Class - Oct. 27, 28 & Nov. 17, 18, 2017

This course provides the student with a working knowledge of the principles, processes, and requirements of school district procurement and materials management. The student will be provided with an overview of the rules, regulations, and statutes that apply to school district procurement. Through lecture and practical application, the student will gain knowledge and experience that will transfer directly to the school business office.

Content:
This course provides the student with a working knowledge of the principles, processes, and requirements of school district procurement and materials management. The student will be provided with an overview of the rules, regulations, and statutes that apply to school district procurement. Through lecture and practical application, the student will gain knowledge and experience that will transfer directly to the school business office. 

Topics:
• Legal aspects of school district procurement 

• Various procurement methods, processes, and procedures available to school districts 

• Specifications and standards used by school districts 

• School district materials management 

• State-approved school district procurement code 

• Cooperative purchasing 


Cancellations must be submitted in writing five (5) business days prior to the class to qualify for a refund (NO Refunds for “NO SHOWS”). Please mail invoice and check to: AASBO, 2100 N. Central Ave., Suite 202, Phoenix, AZ 85004. For registration questions, call AASBO at 602-253-5576. Seating is limited due to room capacity. Register early to ensure availability. Registration ends the Friday prior to the first day of class.


CAC Information:
This class qualifies for 2 or 3 CAC college credits for an additional cost.Those wishing to receive CAC Credit MUST:

First-time CAC students: Register with CAC online to obtain a student identification number and select the AASBO CAC Credit fee option when registering at least ONE WEEK prior to class. 

Returning CAC students: Select an AASBO CAC Credit fee option when registering at least ONE WEEK prior to the class.
